I am a UK English-native translator, born in Glasgow, Scotland, and have spent seven years living and working in Catalonia, Spain.
I first discovered Catalonia during the academic year 2007-08, which I spent teaching English in a high school in Barcelona as part of my university degree. After graduating from the University of Glasgow in 2010 with an M.A. in French and Spanish (having undertaken modules in Catalan and Portuguese), I returned to Catalonia, where I began working as an in-house Translator/Project Manager in a translation agency near Girona.
I returned to Barcelona in 2012, when I began working as an in-house Translator/Quality Manager for the Life Sciences department of a global translation agency. During this time I was able to acquire a sound knowledge of the field and greatly enhance my research skills.
I now translate on a freelance basis, mainly focussing on medical and pharmaceutical translations. I also have extensive editing and proofreading experience, gained through my time working in-house.
